Activities of children

Across the Lesotho countryside children were actively involved with chores such as filling water containers at a community pump to transport in wheelbarrows, transporting sacks of goods on donkeys, and watching grazing sheep and cattle along the road. Notice the V shaped cement drain gutter which is typical along streets around Maseru.

As we drove up mountain passes we encountered boys selling crystal rocks and peaches in tin bowls. Many children were quick to put their hands out for coins.

On Friday afternoon school children of all ages and in a variety of colorful uniforms streamed along the streets.
